City With a Brain Editorial Illustration

A personal editorial project on an article about future cities entitled "City with a Brain" that I completed a couple of weeks ago. I was inspired by an old children's book that had little people travelling round the various pipes and systems in the human body in little boats. I concentrated on the "no waste" idea of these future cities and used the kidneys as a way to represent the processing of the cities' waste  I've been trying to push my colours a lot more recently and I am pretty pleased with how the colours in the spot Illustration turned out particularly.

Sketches Update

It's been a while since I last posted on this blog and this has mainly been because I have been posting more regular updates on my new tumblr blog http://mr-green-tea.tumblr.com. However, do not fear! This blog is here to stay as I will be posting more in depth posts about projects that I am working on and every once in a while will make posts like this in which I collate all the sketches that I have been uploading to my tumblr. So without further a do, here is a little peak into what I have been doodling in my sketchbook these past few weeks.

New Profile Design

I recently redesigned my Profile image for all of my internet portfolios and social media platforms. I wanted to have an image that represented me as well as what I did and of course, I couldn't resist throwing a bike in there too. I have gone for a simple graphic style and used one of my favourite shades of Orange for the background. My friend Lucie http://muggyebes.tumblr.com pointed out that it looks like I have Michael Jackson's gloves on and although I see her point I'm rather too pleased with this image to be bothered really.

Inspired by Owen Davey's Photoshop working methods I am now constructing a lot of my drawing as separate pieces which I scan in and then merge together.

A little early

Ok so here is something I'm working on. Hint you won't see it again until December.

Final sketchbook pages

After these last few pages it will be that exciting time again when I get to start a new sketchbook and I can't wait!

Collagraphs

Inspired by the dude with a beard that I spotted while cycling through Cornwall. Maybe more to come.

Pub Scrawl Sketchbook Pages

There may be some hints to what my next comic project will be about in these pages. (Also I didn't come up with the Butt Pig)

Style experiments

A new style of eyes that I'm playing around with at the moment. What do you guys think?
